The Department is well supported in infrastructure and laboratory facilities. The laboratories are well equipped and it has been tried to provide the full exposure to students regarding their suitability to Govt./Private sector organizations and industries related to mining Engineering.

Laboratories :

The followings are the laboratories existing in the department.

   1. Mining Machinery lab
   2. Mining Geology lab
   3. Mining Model lab
   4. Mine Surveying lab

Highlights of Course Structure

1. Eligibility for admission :

  • Candidate should have passed 10th standard (science).

  • Minimum age of the candidate should be 18 years. 

  • No female candidates are allowed in this course.

  • Candidate should be medically fit for mining works.

2. Admission : 

  • On the merit basis. 

3. About course :

  • 3 Years duration ( with semester pattern ) i.e. 6 semester. 

  • 2 months industrial practical training in mines is compulsory after each semester examination (as per DGMS Rules). 

  • 1 year post Diploma practical training (PDPT) is essential as apprentice training and part of the course (as per DGMS Rules).

4. Job opportunity:

  • Diploma pass outs are engaged in different Mining industries like  SECL BALCO, NALCO, Cement Industries, Private Mining Sectors; State Mining Corporation, etc.

5. Career Advancement:

  • Diploma pass outs are directly admitted to B.E. courses in II year
