The Department is well supported in infrastructure and resources through the Institute. Faculty are encouraged to take independent initiatives with collective responsibility in all the relevant academic dimensions-teaching, curriculum development , participation in conferences, symposia, etc. The Department has an open atmosphere with ample scope for faculty to work with other departments and centers within the Institute.

The department has following laboratories-

3. Electrical circuit / Measurement and Power System Lab
4. Basic electronics/ Microprocessor, Instrumentation &
Control Lab.

Students have ample freedom to choose their major and minor projects according to their own choice in the area of major sub-disciplines to broaden their base through their choice of elective courses. Projects in areas of Electrical / Electronics Engg. with or without interdisciplinary content are handled which encourage better awareness and cooperation across the different Projects and the Department. It is understood that - the role of diploma holders in Electrical Engineering is to assist the engineers in design/ development/ manufacturing of more efficient electrical machinery, power systems, control / testing equipments for the generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy and telecommunication.
